Celebrating our Differences

Every day for the past four years, we hear the BHS Mission Statement that encourages students to be “engaged community members” who “respect human differences in an increasingly diverse society.” Hearing this statement continuously has influenced the way we think, act, and learn. It has also inspired us to create something that represents this message on a larger-scale. One aspect of diversity that is present in all of us is the language we speak. Through this mural, our goal is to celebrate this aspect of identity in every student. By welcoming students in their own language, they are able to feel a sense of belonging and representation in our community.
